Pivots & Promising Patterns ~ 24 Jan 2014

Indeed the pivots and patterns of the week ahead promise extra potency, and within that potency, promise for resetting, reaffirming and redirecting life aspirations and manifesting creative urges.

Lost in the shuffle of announcing a new planet in the last post was the opposition of the Hawaiian-based dwarf planet Haumea with the Pluto-demoting dwarf planet Eris. Haumea inspires a relentless inner churning of creativity - much like a flow of lava that destroys what lies in its path, and in the aftermath leaves even far more fertile land. Eris, the goddess of discord, despises being shut out, excluded, shunned and will go to all lengths to preserve her agenda.

It does seem Hollywood provided perfect personification of this pattern this week James Cameron, the man behind Avatar, prevailed in court against those claiming he stole the “precious writings” (as a blogger for the Hollywood Reporter reported) of a collection of writers. Fox’s show New Girl is being sued by writers for plagiarism. By far the most evocative example of this pattern comes from the intensity-driven Quentin Tarantino. He showed his new script, The Hateful Eight, to a handful of actors, a few of whom showed the script to agents. The script then leaked, though agents backed away, hands up in “not me” posture. Tarantino did what an Aries under pressure might do, and blew his top. He’s going to kill the project. At least for now. “It’ll come out as a book. And maybe a movie later. But it was leaked, dammit. You can’t have it. Not now anyway. I’ll just go do something else, so there. Take that!”

Initially I thought this action might have part of a Ceres “cut off the nose to spite the face agenda.” In a cursory look at his chart, I did not see the necessary Ceres influence. Maybe those accusing the mighty Quent of pulling a fast-one PR stunt are right. Who knows?

What this means to you: if your talent is ignored, scoffed upon, rejected, dismissed and what have you, don’t go away mad. Do go away.

Go away and review, seeking answers to charged questions. Does your work portray the epitome of the talent you possess? Do you need to hone your talents? Are your talents marketable? Do you understand the nature of the business that ferries your talent to the world? Remember: Just because your wares and offerings were pushed away by a critic, agent, editor, producer or entrepreneur, it does not mean they are flawed.

Sunday, Mars, the planet of positive action and also pissed off tantrums opposes Eris. The sensitivity to being shut out runs several orders of magnitude past redline. Thus, the need to retreat, chill, regroup and reformulate looms as paramount.

The step back and review position stands adjacent to the stand back and sulk position. In sulk mode, one might destroy one’s creation (hopefully resurrecting it into a higher manifestation of fertility), gather all one’s marbles and go home to play in a solitary mode, or rage about with rabid blogs and declarations, potentially alienating those who may yet help.

Use the weekend for your personal restoration and reclamation. This use is revealed to be even more important with a deeper glance into the week. On the last day of January, three things happen:

Mercury leaves the abstractions of Aquarius for more creative Piscean flow - an effort which soon reverses with retrogradation (more to come on that later). But for a week, creative juice seeps like sap from a maple tree, hoping to be harvested.

Venus turns direct in Capricorn. Finally, the least likely to be retrograde planet, who lords over love and loot, straightens things out. Personal priorities reset, and equally if not more important, there’s a clear chance to reconfigure one’s own evaluation of inner resources, talents, skills and such.

Finally, Jupiter in Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn. One week before this exactitude, the writing is on the wall. The Dow is tumbling based upon all sorts of projections and speculations. News is out that one of the ultimate Plutocrats, J. P. Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon, is up for a raise despite the bank’s lingering difficulties following the crash of 2008. The cost of stamps in the United States is rising.

Not to worry. Jupiter prevails. Yesterday mobsters accused of spearheading the robbery of a Lufthansa jet at a New York airport in 1978, immortalized in the film Goodfellas, were arrested. The former Governor of the State of Virginia was indicted for accepting gifts for political influence. And rich boy pop singer, Justin Beiber... well never mind.

Personally, the Jupiter-Pluto opposition impacts everyone. It’s time to reset. Evaluate important things like what it’s really going to require in the real world to manifest your greatest visions and dreams. Plan. Project. Budget. Schedule (and please with the assistance of an astrologer). Know what you would and/or would not do to put your dreams in place. There are plenty of shylocks and symbolic satans willing to provoke deep creative insecurity with the intention of clinging to your potentially meteoric rise. Souls can be sought and sold. Those without experience in your field, yet with good intention, may offer ill-founded advice. Make friends with those who can navigate the hazardous straits of deal making. Agents, managers and intellectual property lawyers actually do help. Sort out scams. Apply discernment to solicitations. Be clear that Microsoft will not call telling you a virus infected your computer. Post nothing online you don’t want to the world to know (the most glaring manifestation of the lingering Uranus - Pluto square is the extrication of personal privacy by electronic means).

Get grounded. Get real. Pivot and position your purpose on those wish stars, the nearest horizon, and whilst doing so, remember to firmly reset your feet in the starting block.

Finally, since Jupiter is in Cancer, let the belly barometer rule. If your gut can give it a green light, fine. If inner non-gastrointestinal turbulence rules, use the pivot and step back with the output energies long enough to contemplate, recenter the core, and prepare for a lava-like surge forward when the time is right.

Mercury will retrograde soon. Once Venus goes direct on the 31st until February 6th, there is the only slim opening until mid-May when all personal planets are direct. What can you do with a reset before your creative power surge?
